Very Sad News

As her husband, Gary, I must give the most sad news
of my life....after a long and valiant battle with cancer,
Gloria passed away last Sunday evening, Feb. 24, 2013.

She went peacefully while in the loving surrounding
embraces of her family; myself and her two beloved
boys, Brandon and Bryan, and a very special friend.

She was the life and heart of our family. We are missing
her so much. But we know she has now entered her 3rd life.

A memorial service is being planned for later in the Spring
at Stephens Lake Park, a place that she loved and took many
healing walks, by herself and with family.

We will give further information as plans are finalized.

  1. Dear Gary, Brandon, and Bryan,

It is with tremendous sadness that I read this news. I only met Gloria for about five minutes - she wrote the first entry in my journal on a trip that changed my life. I can truthfully say that her kind words - when she blessed my trip - have stayed with since. I remember her bright eyes and heartfelt manner.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

    Peace.

  2. Gary....Just had to visit Gloria's blog to read her words. They are such a comfort. I know your heart is heavy at this time, not only with sadness but with the many, many cherished memories you have of her. Know the three of you are in many friends' thoughts and prayers....

  3. Gary and boys:
I am truly sorry for your loss, our loss. Gloria, your wife and mother was an exceptional person. But you know that. Thinking about her I have NEVER known another person like her. I am thankful that I did get to know her. All of us HMMers have stories to share about her. Perhaps at the future memorial we will be able to do that. May peace be with you. I know you miss her. We do too. Love Dorothy

  4. Dear Gary, Brandon, and Bryan,
I want you to know how deeply we miss Gloria at work. She is never far from our thoughts. She always kept us smiling with her funny stories, her artwork, or her talent with her clients. She is greatly missed. I will write more in a card and send it to you, but in the meantime, I want you to know that our support and encouragement is with you. With love,
    Jennifer W.

  5. Dear Gary, Brandon, and Bryan,
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm wishing all three of you comfort and peace, now and in the days to come. There are so many wonderful things to say about Gloria that I could write a book :), but suffice to say that she changed my life in the best possible way. She was an incredible friend, "sister", artist, role model, and all-around spectacular person. Thank you for sharing her with me.
    Much love,
    Melody
